Read each clue carefully. Complete each checkpoint accurately based on the description and the set of validation points below the clue.  You must complete 13 out of the 15 checkpoints (You can skip two).  Checkpoint #15 is mandatory (cannot be your skip), and will need to be completed last, otherwise checkpoints can be completed in any order throughout the race.

Our HQ will review your submission almost instantly.  You should see your response very quickly but you do not need to wait around for it, especially if you are confident that you completed the checkpoint correctly.

Teams need to stay together throughout the race from one checkpoint to another and each team member (and their body markings when possible) should be visible in every submission unless otherwise noted.

If you have a race-related question during the race you can submit it through your Team Bonfyre.  We will respond quickly and provide you with the information you need as long as it doesn't impact your ability to solve the clue.

We have carefully scouted and vetted every checkpoint but the Fair is a constantly changing beast so if a checkpoint is inaccessible or you're not able to complete the requirements for any reason let us know right away and we will adjust the requirements if needed and verify accordingly.

Checkpoint #1

Because of the lack of physical evidence most scientists consider this "cryptid simian" a combination of folklore and hoax.  Legend has it that there is one of these walking around the fairgrounds and it will be your challenge to find it and prove the skeptics wrong (something people in this part of the country have attempted for decades but few if any have done successfully).  Don't worry, the one that's here at the fairgrounds is so tame and cuddly that they made it the new Fair mascot.  Once you've found "it" take a picture of your entire team with it while looking shocked that you've actually found it.

Be aware that there are many versions of this legend around the fairgrounds, including stuffed ones and a giant wood carving, but you will need to take your picture with the living breathing one hanging out on the grounds.

- 1 picture, all team members visible

- The specified legend (the living breathing one) is visible and identifiable

Checkpoint #2

These "plants" are nearly 10 feet tall and move around the fairgrounds all day, although their feet only touch the ground just before and after they begin their performance.   In nature these plants would probably be drawn towards water and sunshine, but here at the Fair they tend to be drawn towards the 79th element on the periodic table.  Once you've found them, take a picture of your entire team while each racer is getting a separate bottle or cup of water poured over their heads and any of these "plants" are clearly visible in the background.  In the picture each racer should be pouring water over their own heads or having a stranger do it for them, and each racer should be using a separate bottle or cup.  Make sure you time your picture perfectly, and are confident the correct "plants" are in the background or else you may end up getting get very wet trying this challenge multiple times.

- 1 picture, all team members clearly visible

- The designated "plants" are clearly visible and identifiable in the background

- Each racer on your team is actively getting water poured on their head either by themselves or having a stranger do it, and each racer is using a separate bottle or cup full of water

Checkpoint #3

It's too bad ATM's don't dispense coins, because you'll need both to complete this challenge!   Find any ATM around the fairgrounds, and once there take a video of any TWO members of your team completing the Coin Snatch Challenge while the ATM is clearly visible in the background.  To see an example of the Coin Snatch Challenge click PLAY on the video below.

All members of your team are able to attempt the challenge, but only two need to complete it within a 9-second continuous video to be verified.  Make sure the video shows the team members fully completing the challenge from when it is resting on top of their bent elbows, to when they finish and it is clearly in their hands after catching it.

*To take a continuous video within the app, you (or a stranger filming you) will need to hold down the record button. Be aware that the maximum length video you can upload to Bonfyre is 9 seconds, but you can take a longer video and then trim it down in the app to just show the portion where the racers successfully complete the challenge.

- 1 video, all team members clearly visible

- Any ATM around the fairgrounds is clearly visible in the background at some point in the video

- Any TWO team members complete the Coin Snatch Challenge successfully (as shown in the video below) within one continuous video

Checkpoint #4

The Fair is so big that an entire separate town exists right here on the grounds, complete with a hotel, doctor, and post office.  What's amazing about this location is that it didn't exist 3 days ago, and once the Fair ends it will likely be located somewhere else.  Once you find this hidden community, get your team to the Jail and take a picture of your entire team inside of the Jail facility.  There are a couple of photo opportunities here, such as sticking your faces through the bars of the cell, or reaching for the key, so have fun with it but just make sure everyone is stuffed inside of the jail, and then escape while you can!

- 1 picture, all team members clearly visible

- Entire team is inside the jail facility located within the specified town

Checkpoint #5

Located about halfway between the two gate entrances whose colors if combined would form green, are the officials who work for the "WSP".  There aren't a lot of vehicles allowed here on the actual fairgrounds, but this location consists of a few that are used to promote awareness and safety.  Once there, approach the officials stationed at this location and they will put your team through a test used frequently by people in their line of work.  Once you begin, have someone take a video of your team while you're all performing this test.  By having our racers partner with this checkpoint we hope to generate awareness from other fair-goers that may see you interacting with this great organization.  Be sure to thank the officials for their service both here at the Fair and in the community after you successfully complete the test.

- 1 video, all team members clearly visible

- Team is at the designated checkpoint managed by the WSP

- Team is performing the specified test given to them by officials on site

Checkpoint #6

One of the greatest things about The Fair is it's amazing food!  And the food tastes even better when you're sharing it among friends...or even strangers. Some of the best treats to share because of their size are Elephant Ears, but you probably haven't shared it like this before!  Take a picture of your team, or a combination of your team and as many strangers as needed in order to have 5 total people all taking a bite of an Elephant Ear and holding it up with your mouths (no hands).

Each of the 5 individuals should be biting somewhere around the edge of the Ear at the same time (so you may need to get cozy with one another), and your hands should not be touching or supporting the treat ('s being held up only with everyone's mouths/teeth). Just make sure the treat has cooled down before everyone takes a bite!  Also, you may want to take the picture from above the group so our HQ can verify everyone has their mouths on it and their hands are not holding it.

- 1 picture, all team members clearly visible if possible

- Team members and as many strangers as needed to have 5 total people completing the challenge

- The group of 5 individuals are all taking a bite of one Elephant Ear and their hands are not touching or supporting the treat

Checkpoint #7

There are lots of rides here at the Fair, but this kind is meant for the bravest little souls and only lasts for 6 seconds (if you're good).  Get your team to the area outside the arena where these rides can be seen and find the purple and pink trailer with the image of a rider on it.  Finding this large colorful trailer won't be too tough, but persuading enough strangers to help you imitate these rides might be.  Once there, take a picture of your entire team each giving a piggy back ride to a stranger, or getting a stranger to give you a piggy back ride while the trailer is visible behind you.  Maybe "piggy" back should be renamed given the type of ride you're imitating.  If some of your team wants to give a ride, and others want to be given a ride that is certainly allowed.  Just take one memorable picture with your new found "close" friends and be sure to thank them for helping you out.

- 1 picture, all team members clearly visible and completing the challenge

- Each team member is either giving a stranger a piggy back ride, or is getting a piggy back ride from a stranger

- The specified colorful trailer is visible and identifiable in the background

Checkpoint #8

This small park and paver pathway are found in the shadows of our nation's last remaining fairground attraction of this kind (was also designated an ACE Landmark in 2013).  The paver pathway is made up of bricks that help support the Fair. The problem is most people walk right over them and don't take the time to truly notice each name or message.  To complete this challenge get your team to this pathway and find any engraved brick whose inscription includes the first name of any of the 4 guys pictured below.  Once you've found it, take a picture of your entire team with the brick clearly visible (and legible). The name just needs to be the same as one of these four guys, but doesn't need to be spelled exactly the same.  If needed, you can submit a second picture with a close-up view of the engraving so we can confirm the name.

- 1 picture, all team members clearly visible

-Team is at the specified paver pathway and an engraved memorial brick is clearly visible

-The first name of any of the 4 specified men is included in the engraving and is clearly legible

Checkpoint #9

What's a trip to The Fair without your whole team experiencing one of the many fun Midway rides?  These rides were named for the park on the south side of Chicago where the first modern day Fair took place in 1893 and the term "Midway" became a common term for an area with amusements.  So honor the history of Fairs in our country and the the fun amusements they offer by taking a video of your entire team all riding/experiencing any of the designated Midway Rides here at the Fair!

A list of acceptable Midway rides can be found by clicking HERE.

Be aware that selfie sticks are not allowed on rides so just take a short handheld video of you and your teammates while the ride is in motion or you're going through the amusement.  There is a wide variety of rides and amusements so choose one that you feel you can easily film your team on/in.

- 1 video, all team members visible if possible

- Team is riding on or is inside of any of the designated Midway rides

Checkpoint #10

This large exhibit typically showcases a wide variety of talents, from Lego displays to calligraphy.  Even with the abundance of quirky things in this location it's still surprising that a group of people who typically commit warlike acts at sea without the authorization of any nation are known to hang out here.  Although, these specific ones have gone against their old fashioned ways and now travel around raising support for various charitable causes.  Once you find them, take a picture of your entire team all "flashing the X" with your forearms (kinda like the flag on their ship) and making your toughest facial expression while these sea worthy people are visible behind you.

- 1 picture, all team members clearly visible

- Team is inside the specified exhibit

- Team members are flashing the X pose

- Any of the specified sea worthy people are clearly visible in the background

Checkpoint #11

This outdoor themed vendor shares it's name with Kim and Kanye's first born.  Once at their location, get in line for their archery challenge and take a video of any ONE of your teammates shooting the bow and arrow and hitting anywhere on the designated target.  Although only ONE of your teammates needs to hit the target the rest of your team should be visible at some point in the video cheering them on.  Each person who attempts this challenge will get 3 arrows to hit the target and if you miss all 3 then you'll need to get back in line and wait your turn to try it again.  If someone on your team can hit the target quickly this challenge could put you ahead of the competition!

Remember, in order to take a continuous video in the app you'll need to hold down the record button.  You can always take a longer video as they attempt it multiple times and then just trim it down in the app to show the part where they shoot it, hit the target, and the rest of the team is visible.

- 1 video, all team members clearly visible

- Team is at the specified vendor's location at the archery challenge

- Any ONE teammate shoots an arrow using the bow and hits the designated archery target

Checkpoint #12

This challenge will take some teamwork and skill, but the racers who complete it will be rewarded with a sweet treat!  Take a video of any combination of teammates successfully catching 3 pieces of popcorn in their mouths thrown to them by another teammate or stranger within a 9-second continuous video.  The teammate or stranger tossing the popcorn should be at least an arm length or more away from the catcher.  Basically, as long as there are 3 pieces of popcorn caught by any of your teammates and it's thrown to them by other teammates or strangers from an appropriate distance you will complete it successfully.

- 1 video, all team members visible if possible

- Any combination of team members catch 3 pieces of popcorn in their mouth(s) within a 9-second continuous video

- Popcorn is thrown by another teammate or stranger from at least an arms length away

Checkpoint #13

The rare breed of animal shown in the image below is thought to have gotten it's name from a man and story referenced in the first book of the Christian Old Testament.  Although usually raised for wool they are also sometimes used as guard animals to protect the farm from theft and have been known to defend other livestock from predators.  Find where these animals are here at The Fair and take a picture of your entire team while they are visible in the background.  Just don't try to steal one or confuse it for some other boring breed, because they know how to use each of their many horns!

- 1 picture, all team members clearly visible

- Team is at the location where these rare animals are found and any of these live animals are clearly visible and identifiable in the background

Checkpoint #14

This exhibit would probably be Charlie Bucket's favorite, although you don't need a special colored ticket to get in.  Inside may be a lot of things to distract you, but stay focused and try not to drool.  It's a place your dentist would probably recommend you stay away from but if you have good fortune you'll be able to get in and out quickly without any Big complications.  Simply find the machine, located inside this exhibit, that's featured in the popular Fair-related movie below (press play to watch the clip) and take a picture of your entire team while that machine is visible in the background.

- 1 picture, all team members clearly visible

- Team is at the specified exhibit

- The specified machine is visible and identifiable in the background
