Read each clue carefully. Complete each checkpoint accurately based on the description.  You must complete 13 out of the 15 checkpoints (You can skip two).  Checkpoint #15 is mandatory (cannot be your skip), and will need to be completed last, otherwise checkpoints can be completed in any order throughout the race.

Each checkpoint has a set of validation points below the clue that we will confirm for every submission.  Submit your completed clues to our Race Headquarters throughout the race via your Team Bonfyre and we will notify you quickly of the status using one of these simple responses:

VERIFIED = everything is completed correctly

Our HQ will review your submission almost instantly.  You should see your response very quickly but you do not need to wait around for it, especially if you are confident that you completed the checkpoint correctly. Teams need to stay together throughout the race from one checkpoint to another and each team member (and their body markings when possible) should be visible in every submission unless otherwise noted.

If you have a race-related question during the race you can submit it through your Team Bonfyre.  We will respond quickly and provide you with the information you need as long as it doesn't impact your ability to solve the clue.

We have carefully scouted and vetted every checkpoint but the Fair is a constantly changing beast so if a checkpoint is inaccessible or you're not able to complete the requirements for any reason let us know right away and we will adjust the requirements if needed and verify accordingly.

Checkpoint #1

For the first time in it's 115-year history the US Open will be played in the Pacific Northwest, at Chambers Bay next June.  Even the best golfers in the world will have their skills put to the test!  To start getting excited for this exciting event make your way to the US Open exhibit featured here in the fairgrounds. Once there find the collection of gold colored golf balls and take a video of any one of your team members balancing one ball on top of another for 5 consecutive seconds.

You can be holding the bottom ball, and it can be sitting on a hard surface, but you will need to let go of the top ball once it balances and then count for 5 seconds.  If there are enough balls you can have multiple team members attempting it, although only one needs to successfully complete it.  If there are other teams that arrive at the checkpoint while you're there please share the balls so that other teams have at least one set to attempt it.

*Be aware that the longest length video you can upload to Bonfyre is 9 seconds, so either start recording once the team member has it balanced or you can trim down a longer video you took using the Bonfyre app before posting.

- 1 video, team members clearly visible

- Team is at the specified exhibit

- 1 team member balances one golf ball on top of another for 5 full seconds

Checkpoint #2

This race was designated for anyone age 21 and over, which means you might be more likely to know where one of the key ingredients of beer is growing here in the fairgrounds!  To figure out the ingredient just ask yourself how a "Lepus curpaeums" gets around. Once you've found this plant, take a picture of your entire team all looking like you might have had too much to drink, while the sign labeling the plant is clearly visible in the background.

- 1 picture, all team members clearly visible

- Specified plant is clearly visible and legible in the background

Checkpoint #3

Songs tend to bring back great childhood memories. And if you grew up in this area one of the songs that does that best starts with the lyrics "You can do it at a trot, you can do it at a gallop". For this challenge you'll find some strangers who still love to "Do it", while they eat the Fair's most iconic treat. Take a video of your entire team and at least 2 strangers all taking a big bite of the iconic Fair treat (that has been sold here for 103 years) and then singing any part of the classic Fair jingle described above.

*You don't need to purchase a separate treat for each team member as long as you can all take a big bite of one before singing. You may want to find strangers already eating these because we would assume they won't want to share yours. Please also be careful not to choke on the treat during this challenge. They're pretty amazing but they're not worth dying for.

- 1 video, all team members clearly visible

- Your team, and at least 2 strangers all take a big bite of the specified iconic Fair treat

- Your team, and at least 2 strangers are singing the classic Fair jingle with the iconic Fair treat in your mouths

Checkpoint #4

This challenge will take some strategy, and maybe a steady hand to take a group selfie.  Take a picture of your entire team while all of you are more than 20 feet of the ground.  There are a number of ways to accomplish this around the Fairgrounds (without getting in trouble) but how you do it could be a game-changer in the race, or possibly the best group selfie you'll ever take!

- 1 picture, all team members clearly visible

- Entire team is more than 20 feet of the ground when the picture is taken

Checkpoint #5

There are all sorts of visual attractions around the fairgrounds meant to get your attention.  The "guys" that the character Phil is describing in the video clip below are placed strategically around the Fair to entice you into their nearby establishments.  Find any of these "guys" around the Fair and take a picture of your entire team all imitating any of the poses they do.

- 1 picture, all team members clearly visible

- Any of the specified "guys" are clearly visible in the background

Checkpoint #6

This checkpoint can be completed anywhere around the fairgrounds, although there's only a few places where you can get the items you need to complete the challenge. Take a picture of your entire team while one soda can per team member (of any brand) is perfectly balanced at an angle as shown in the picture below.  You must have one soda can visible for each racer on your team and all of them must be balanced at an angle, and unsupported (not being held or leaning against anything).

- 1 picture, all team members clearly visible

- Soda cans are balanced at an angle (similar to the image below), and are not being held or leaning against something

- Team must complete the challenge using 1 soda can for each racer on your team and all of them must be balanced in the picture at the same time

Checkpoint #7

Get your team to the entrance of an area here at the Fair intended for some of the littlest fairgoers. Once there you'll find a large overhead sign being held up by two large red pillars.  It's beneath this large sign that you'll complete this checkpoint.

Take a picture of your entire team, and as many strangers as needed, to have at least 7 total people all in a row and jumping in the air beneath the large sign at the same time.  Timing and teamwork will be critical in order to get everyone off the ground at the same time and have the photographer snap the picture at just the right moment.

- 1 picture, all team members and as many strangers as needed to have at least 7 total people all clearly visible

- Entire group is underneath the specified large sign

- Entire group is all jumping in the air and clearly off the ground

Checkpoint #8

We just heard that inside the Sleep Country Showplex there's a serious fight going on.  Birds are attacking pigs, everything is being knocked over, and none of the animals are happy about it.  Thankfully the people controlling this madness are happy, and having a lot of fun watching it all go down.  The image below will help you find the booth where all of this is happening.  Once there, have anyone on your team complete one level of this epic battle on one of their big screens.  Then take a picture of your team with the screen in the background showing you successfully completed a level.

**There will likely be staff throughout the Showplex that will be watching to make sure teams complete the challenge on their own, and don't just take a picture with someone else's screen.  So be sure to complete the challenge as a team and then show off your accomplishment while taking a "happy" group shot!

- 1 picture, all team members clearly visible

- Team members are at the specified battle location

- Screen in the background confirms your team successfully completed one level of this battle

Checkpoint #9

In 2013, the Fair was rebranded/renamed to the Washington State Fair. Prior to that, it was called the Puyallup Fair, before that the Western Washington Fair, and before that the Valley Fair.  There is at least 1 large sign here in the fairgrounds (and a few other Fair owned objects) that are having a hard time letting go of the past.  Take a picture of your entire team and any of these Fair-owned signs or objects that still bare "The Puyallup Fair" name or logo.

- 1 picture, all team members visible

- Any of the Fair-owned signs or objects that bare "The Puyallup Fair" name or logo is clearly visible and legible

Checkpoint #10

We're honored to be partnering with an elite group of Americans who are stationed near the Blue Gate, and around the world.  This dedicated group is often described as "few, and proud", and for good reason.  They protect us every day but in order to do that they must stay strong.  Find this group where they are located here at the Fair and complete their Push-Up Challenge.  Have someone take either a picture OR video of your entire team doing the challenge with these brave people at their station.  Before you leave their area have every one of your team members shake their hand or give them a hug and thank them for what they do.

- 1 picture OR video, all team members clearly visible

- Team members are at the specified station

- All team members are completing the Push-Up Challenge with these people

Checkpoint #11

This historic relic, which resembles ones used often by Jack Sparrow's crew, is on display here at the Fair. It won a ribbon in Hobby Hall in the 1990’s and was reconditioned/rebuilt from parts of the USS Constitution and pickle barrel wood by long-time fairgoer Leroy Anderson.  It was recently donated to the Fair upon Leroy's passing; and used to sit in his front yard just a mile or two from the fairgrounds.  It has been, and can be put to use, which we assume is in case the fairgrounds ever get boarded by freebooters!  Once you find this historic Fair relic take a picture of your entire team standing in front of it and acting scared for your lives that it's aimed at you and about to be used.

- 1 picture, all team members clearly visible

- Specified historic relic is clearly visible

Checkpoint #12

There's so much spinning going on here at the Fair, and you're gonna add to it with this challenge! Find any hard surface around the fairgrounds that is elevated off the ground (so a table, ledge, etc) and take a video of any two people on your team completing the quarter spin challenge as seen in the video below. If you are racing solo you will need to find a stranger to spin the quarter while you attempt to stop it with your finger.

To complete the Quarter Spin Challenge, basically have one teammate (or stranger if you're racing solo) flick a quarter so that it spins on any elevated hard surface (not the ground or pavement).  Another teammate will then need to press down on the top of the spinning quarter so that it stops spinning and remains upright.  Remember that Bonfyre only allows up to a 9 second maximum video to be uploaded into your Team Bonfyre, but you can record a much longer video until you successfully complete the challenge and then just trim the video in the Bonfyre app to show the portion when you successfully complete the challenge.

- 1 video, team members clearly visible

- Challenge is being completed on an elevated hard surface and not on the ground or pavement

- Either 2 teammates, or yourself and a stranger (if you're racing solo), complete the quarter spin challenge as shown in the video below and described in the clue above

Checkpoint #13

For each racer competing in this event a large donation goes to the Fair Foundation.  We thank you for supporting this great cause that helps grow the Fair's educational programs, ensures that the Fair's founding legacy lives on through preservation projects, and enhances the fairgrounds.  Over the years there have been many other ways to support the Foundation.  One of those was by honoring someone on one of the many benches throughout the fairgrounds.  To complete this challenge take a picture of your entire team with any bench whose dedication includes the word "MEMORY".  Then after the race continue to support the Foundation so fairgoers can have great memories here for a long time to come.

**Because the dedication may be fairly small you may need to submit a second picture showing a close up of just the dedication that includes the word "memory" so our Race HQ can verify it.

- 1 picture OR multiple pictures if needed, all team members clearly visible

- Team is at any dedicated bench throughout the fairgrounds whose written dedication includes the word "MEMORY", and is clearly visible and legible

Checkpoint #14

Walking the Fair on a normal day takes a toll on your feet, but racing it calls for some serious relief.  For this challenge you'll need to find one of the massagers placed around the Fair that probably have a very big Line Of Life and Line Of Heart. Find the massager that is the same color as the character talking and singing in the video below and take a picture of your entire team all piled onto one of it's "seats".

- 1 picture, all team members clearly visible

- Team is at the specified massager whose color is the same as the character in the video

- Entire team is all piled onto 1 of the massager's "seats"

Checkpoint #15

After you have completed 12 total checkpoints and had them verified by our Race HQ, then this checkpoint will be the final one you complete. The FINISH LINE for the entire race!  The venue you'll need to get to is the newest Sports Bar in the fairgrounds.

Once your team completes your 12th total checkpoint successfully our Race HQ will send you a quick and brief instruction on what your team needs to do at this location.  Once you complete the objective or upload the required submission at this location you will be finished the race and you will instantly receive your finish place and time!  Then you can hang out with other fun teams, enjoy the fair at a much slower pace, or find some great Fair food to help you recover from your adventure!

- All team members present at the Finish

- Team completes the requirement sent by Race HQ
