Read each clue carefully. Complete each checkpoint accurately based on the description.  You must complete 9 out of the 10 checkpoints.  Checkpoint #10 is mandatory (cannot be your skip), and will need to be completed last, otherwise checkpoints can be completed in any order throughout the race.

Each checkpoint has a set of validation points below the clue that we will confirm for every submission.  Submit your completed clues to our Race Headquarters throughout the race via your Team Bonfyre and we will notify you quickly of the status using one of these simple responses:

VERIFIED = everything is completed correctly

CODE 1 = you are not at the correct location

CODE 2 = all of the requirements were not met

CODE 3 = all team members were not visible

Our HQ will review your submission almost instantly.  You should see your response very quickly but you do not need to wait around for it, especially if you are confident that you completed the checkpoint correctly. Teams need to stay together throughout the race from one checkpoint to another and each team member (and their body markings when possible) should be visible in every submission unless otherwise noted.

If you have a race-related question during the race you can submit it through your Team Bonfyre.  We will respond quickly and provide you with the information you need as long as it doesn't impact your ability to solve the clue.

We have carefully scouted and vetted every checkpoint but cities are a constantly changing beast so if a checkpoint is inaccessible or you're not able to complete the requirements for any reason let us know right away and we will adjust the requirements if needed and verify accordingly.

GOOD LUCK AND HAVE FUN!

Checkpoint #1

*This checkpoint will be closing at 3:00pm so unless you want it to be your skip you'll need to arrive before then!

Travel northwest from the Access along the Mall and you'll end up in the largest park to have been built here in Denver in the last 100 years.  This area has also long been recognized as the birthplace of Denver.  The park's size is not the only thing that will make this checkpoint "tough".  Once in the park find the staff members from Explore (no we did not misspell our race name).  Complete the challenge the Explore staff outline for your team and have one of their staff or a stranger take a picture or a video of your entire team while you're completing the required routine.

- 1 picture or video, all team members clearly visible

- Team is at the specified park and with the Explore staff

- Team members are completing the required routine in the picture or video

Checkpoint #2

Denver is such a great place to live for almost anyone, but it's also a really great place if you're a "Canis lupus familiaris".  With abundant trails, open space, and an acceptable number of fire hydrants around the city they're just as happy to be here as their human BFF's.  To complete this checkpoint you must take a picture with your entire team, two "Canis lupus familiaris", and the human chauffeurs they are each with, while your team sticks your tongues out (a sign of happiness in their culture).  You must be with two Canis lupus familiaris and their human chauffeurs, not just a picture with them in the distance.

- 1 picture, all team members clearly visible

- 2 Canis lupus familiaris and their human chauffeurs are clearly visible

- Team member(s) must be sticking their tongue out

Checkpoint #3

Get your team to the unique structures shown in the 3D rendering below, which are found on the south side of the building named after "Brad's Drink".

To complete this challenge it will take quickness and teamwork!   Take one continuous video of your entire team touching each of the 4 large towers. We've provided a red arrow in the image below to help demonstrate your likely path.

The video should start with your team touching one of the towers and continue recording as your whole team runs to each of the other three towers and touches them along the way.  Be aware that the maximum video length you can upload to your Bonfyre is 9 seconds, so that is the timeframe you are allotted to complete this challenge.  To film one continuous video you can just hold down the record button.  Be sure to try and get all team members in the video at some point as you move between towers.

- 1 continuous video, all team members clearly visible

- Entire team travels to each of the 4 specified towers

- Entire team makes it to each of the 4 specified towers within the 9 second maximum video length

Checkpoint #4

Sometimes doing an Urban Adventure Race means you get to do things you were always told you shouldn't as a kid.  Because those things are sometimes the most fun, there's no way we're gonna let you miss out on them!  For this checkpoint you will need to complete ONE of the following team challenges:

Take a video of each team member going UP a playground slide (the "wrong" way) in either your socks or barefoot

                          OR

Take one continuous video of your entire team all going down the slide head first one after the other.

Because the maximum video length you can upload to Bonfyre is 9 seconds, you'll need to do the 2nd option quickly, and as an entire team.  The 1st option can be sent via separate videos for each team member and you can send multiple videos for team members that don't complete it within one 9 second video.

- Multiple videos, all team members clearly visible and completing the challenge separately

- Team members must climb up a playground slide in their socks or barefoot

- Team members must start at the bottom of the slide and make it to the top

                           OR

- 1 video, all team members clearly visible and completing the challenge at the same time

- All team members must go down the slide head first one after the other

- All team members make it from the top of the slide to the bottom within one continuous video that is 9 seconds in length or less (the maximum video length that can be uploaded to Bonfyre)

Checkpoint #5

It's really easy to get around Denver and find everything you need thanks to most of downtown being on a grid-like system.  To complete this checkpoint you'll need to use some street sense, and maybe a little luck. Take a picture of your entire team with a 3 or 4-digit address on a building or store that has no repeat numbers, and each number is higher numerically than the previous one.  In other words, the second digit is more than the first, the third digit is more than the second, etc.  So if you found an address that was 257 it would be valid, but 429 wouldn't be.  The address 3578 would be valid, but 4892 wouldn't be.  This number needs to be a 3 or 4-digit address on a building or storefront, and not just a random number you find along the way in a sign, phone number, etc.  Take the picture far enough away that we can get a good sense it's a building address, but close enough that the number is clearly legible.

- 1 picture, all team members clearly visible

- The 3 or 4-digit building or store address is clearly visible

- The address doesn't have any repeat numbers

- Each number in the address is in ascending order (zero is the lowest possible digit and nine is the highest)

Checkpoint #6

Located in front of a hotel near the south end of the 16th Street Mall are 5 women that have a similar passion as the ones portrayed in the video below.  Find these larger than life performers and take a picture of your entire team, and at least 2 strangers, all posing like them, while they're visible in the background.

- 1 picture, all team members clearly visible

- At least 2 strangers are visible and completing the task with your team

- The 5 specified performing women are clearly visible

- Team member(s) and strangers are posing like the specified women

Checkpoint #7

This challenge is going to either take some luck, or the help of some kind strangers (hopefully lanky strangers).  To complete this challenge take a picture of your entire team, and as many strangers as needed, to create a connected "human chain" (stretch hand in hand) between any two parked cars that are in the color family most commonly labeled with a Hexadecimal Code of "FF0000".  That code is just a reference, the two parked cars can be any shade of that color.  Please be careful when forming your human chain and avoid stretching across any road where traffic is actively flowing.  Cars are constantly changing parking spots so if you see a chance to complete this challenge you may want to start recruiting strangers help before your opportunity pulls away!

- 1 picture, all team members clearly visible

- Team members, and as many strangers as needed, form a connected human chain (outstretched arms) between any two parked cars that are a shade of the specified color.

Checkpoint #8

If you want your taste buds to get a little kick, Denver is quickly becoming one of the top places to get your fix.  With the Top 2 fast-casual Mexican restaurant chains in the country (Chipotle and Qdoba Mexican Grill) both being started here in Denver, it's no wonder this city is known for being a little spicy!  To celebrate Denver's pioneering and outright dominance in this industry, take a video of at least HALF your team members consuming a spoon-full of any flavor hot sauce.  If possible have the video include your team members pouring the sauce from the bottle onto the spoon (so we can verify it's not some other condiment) and then consuming the entire spoon-full all within the 9 second maximum video length that can be uploaded to Bonfyre.  Please note that at least half of your team members need to complete this challenge, but not everyone, so be sure to choose those on your team that think they can handle some spice.  If you're racing solo, or at least half your team does not want to complete it, or can't complete it due to dietary restrictions, then this checkpoint will need to be your skip.

- 1 video, all team members clearly visible

- At least half of your team members consume a spoon-full of any flavor hot sauce

Checkpoint #9

Denver and biking go together like fresh powder in the mountains and a "sick" day at work.  With over 80 bike share stations throughout the area this checkpoint might be one of the easier ones to get to, but how well you can lead a group of strangers could determine how quickly you complete it.  Get your entire team to any of the numerous bike share stations around the city and take a picture with your team and as many strangers as needed to be sitting on each bike seat at the station and all balancing (with arms and legs outstretched and not touching the ground or the bike) at the same time.   For example, if there are 10 bikes parked at the station you will need your team plus as many strangers as needed to have 10 people sitting on bikes (1 person per bike) and all balancing at the same time so that your arms and legs are not touching the ground or any part of the bike.

- 1 picture, all team members clearly visible

- As many strangers as needed to have 1 person sitting on each of the bike seats parked at the station

- Everyone sitting on the bike seats must all be balancing (arms and legs are not touching the bike or the ground) at the same time

Checkpoint #10

(MANDATORY, CANNOT BE YOUR SKIP)

(MUST BE COMPLETED LAST BY YOUR TEAM)
