Read each clue carefully. Complete each checkpoint accurately based on the description.  You must complete 9 out of the 10 checkpoints.  Checkpoint #10 is mandatory (cannot be your skip), and will need to be completed last, otherwise checkpoints can be completed in any order throughout the race.

Each checkpoint has a set of validation points below the clue that we will confirm for every submission.  Submit your completed clues to our Race Headquarters throughout the race via your Team Bonfyre and we will notify you quickly of the status using one of these simple responses:

VERIFIED = everything is completed correctly

CODE 1 = you are not at the correct location

CODE 2 = all of the requirements were not met

CODE 3 = all team members were not visible

Our HQ will review your submission almost instantly.  You should see your response very quickly but you do not need to wait around for it, especially if you are confident that you completed the checkpoint correctly. Teams need to stay together throughout the race from one checkpoint to another and each team member (and their body markings when possible) should be visible in every submission unless otherwise noted.

If you have a race-related question during the race you can submit it through your Team Bonfyre.  We will respond quickly and provide you with the information you need as long as it doesn't impact your ability to solve the clue.

We have carefully scouted and vetted every checkpoint but cities are a constantly changing beast so if a checkpoint is inaccessible or you're not able to complete the requirements for any reason let us know right away and we will adjust the requirements if needed and verify accordingly.

GOOD LUCK AND HAVE FUN!

Checkpoint #1

*This checkpoint will be closing at 2:00pm so unless you want it to be your skip you'll need to arrive before then!

In most Urban Adventure Races you'd expect the checkpoint to stay still, but this is not like any other race! Not far from the Access lies the oldest park in the country and within the eastern half of this park are a handful of beautiful "Dames" moving around and waiting for you to find them.  Although, with names like Senora Slaughter, Dottie Danger, and Belle Air Bomber these Dames are not your typical beauty queens. These Dames will remain within the area described, but catching up to them is another story.  Once you've found any of these moving beauties, run up to them and take a picture with them and your entire team all making your toughest looking pose.  Then be sure to take one of their handouts so you know where to find them when you're not racing!

- 1 picture, all team members clearly visible

- At least one of the specified Dames is clearly visible

Checkpoint #2

After the brutal winter we've had we can't wait for Summer to officially arrive!  In anticipation of the warmer months and fun summer trips we want to give your toes a little preview.  At the north end of the park named for the man depicted in the video below, you'll find a sand pit.  Once there, take a picture of your entire team with your shoes off and your feet all buried in the sand.  Make sure the picture isn't just a close-up of feet.  We need to be able to see each team member, their feet buried in sand, and verify you're at the correct location.

- 1 picture, all team members clearly visible

- Your team is at the specified park's sand pit

- Each team members feet are fully buried in sand

Checkpoint #3

Rogers and Hammerstein named their second musical after this type of attraction.  There are two of these popular attractions located here in downtown Boston, and you can complete this checkpoint at either one. This is your chance to bring out your inner child!  Take a video of your entire team all riding on one of these attractions, while it's moving.  Be aware that completing this checkpoint will cost $3 per person.

- 1 video, all team members clearly visible

- Team is riding on one of the two popular specified downtown attractions

- The attraction is moving (operating) during your video

Checkpoint #4

Our infatuation with fountains started last year and we're gonna keep it going here in Boston.  This popular spot (along the Greenway named for the person who's cocktail is the Vodka Soda Splash) became one of our favorite water features in any race last year, so we're sending teams back to get an even better soaking!  To complete this checkpoint take a video at least 9 seconds in length (the most you can upload to Bonfyre) of each of your team members doing either push-ups or jumping jacks directly over one of the holes pictured below.  This is a challenge where timing will make all the difference.  The video shouldn't start recording until you're over the hole, and you should do your chosen exercise for the entire 9 second recording.  You can either submit a video of each team member doing the challenge separately (so someone on your team can film and watch your valuables) or all team members can complete it at the same time on separate holes in one 9 second video (while a kind stranger films).

- 1 video, all team members clearly visible and completing the challenge at the same time

                         OR

- Multiple videos, all team members clearly visible and completing the challenge separately

- Video(s) must be 9 seconds in length, which is the maximum that can be uploaded to Bonfyre

- Team members must be directly over the type of holes pictured below

- Team members must be either doing push-ups or jumping jacks throughout the video, over one of the holes

Checkpoint #5

When this spot (located within the same area as Checkpoint 1) opened in 1894, the Mayor is said to have closed school the next day so that kids could enjoy it.  A renovation in 1996 brought in some now iconic pieces of art by a local artist.  These bronze statues of animals with the scientific name "Anura" doing some human things such as fishing, bathing, and snorkeling have become a favorite for many young (and not so young) locals.  Find any of these bronze statues and take a picture of your entire team all posing like you're kissing it (King Harold from Shrek would be so proud).

- 1 picture, all team members clearly visible

- Any of the specified bronze statues are clearly visible

- Team member(s) are pretending to kiss the bronze statue

Checkpoint #6

There are lots of things Boston is known for, but one of the most significant was the political protest by the Sons of Liberty on December 16th, 1773.  To honor those rebels that changed the course of our country take a picture of your entire team all balancing an open bottle of tea on each of your heads unsupported (meaning you can't be holding onto it).  Because one of our main sponsors is Honest Tea, if you use their product for this challenge there's a good chance your fun picture will be posted on our social media sites as well as theirs!  Since the rebels of 1773 were famous for dumping tea make sure the bottles are fairly full and the cap is removed so you can experience what dumping tea feels like if you don't have good balance!

- 1 picture, all team members clearly visible, and completing the challenge at the same time

- A bottle of tea is being used and has some of the beverage in it

- One open bottle is on each team members head and isn't being held

Checkpoint #7

Get your team to the location shown in the jumbled picture below.  Once there you'll find an architectural beauty, often called a Paifang, that welcomes people to an area of Boston that's the third largest of it's kind in the US (only behind New York City's and San Francisco's).  It's beneath this large structure that you'll complete this checkpoint.

Take a picture of your entire team, and as many strangers as needed, to create a connected "human chain" (stretch hand in hand) from one of this structure's large stone pillars to it's other one.

- 1 picture, all team members clearly visible

- Team members, and as many strangers as needed, form a connected human chain (outstretched arms) from one of the specified structure's large stone pillars to it's other one

Checkpoint #8

The clock shown in the image below hangs outside of America's longest continuously operating luxury hotel.   If you weren't racing we suggest you stop in for their famous Boston Cream Pie, since this was also the place where Massachusetts' official dessert was created.

Get to this clock and take a picture of your entire team while the clock is at any ONE of these timesTop of the hour, 15 minutes after the hour, 30 minutes after the hour, 45 minutes after the hour.  Although you only need one picture, the timing has to be right, so make sure your entire team is in the picture and the time on the clock is clearly visible so our HQ can verify it.

- 1 picture, all team members clearly visible

- Specified historic clock is visible in the background

- Clock must be at any ONE of the specified times

Checkpoint #9

So many possible locations for this checkpoint, but none of them are guaranteed to help you complete this one. Find any vehicle on the ROOFTOP LEVEL of any multi-level parking garage and take a picture of it with your entire team.  You will most likely need to take a selfie, but make sure your picture shows enough of the background that we can verify you're on the rooftop level (open air above) of the parking garage, and you are next to a vehicle.

- 1 picture, all team members clearly visible

- Your team is clearly on the rooftop level (open air above you) of a multi-level parking garage

- A vehicle (that's able to be driven) is parked nearby on the rooftop level and clearly visible

Checkpoint #10

(MANDATORY, CANNOT BE YOUR SKIP)

(MUST BE COMPLETED LAST BY YOUR TEAM)

After you have completed 8 total checkpoints, then this checkpoint will be the final one you complete. The FINISH LINE for the entire race!  The logo below represents the venue located along Batterymarch Street that you have to get your team to.

Once your team completes your 8th total checkpoint successfully our Race HQ will send you a quick and brief instruction on what your team needs to do at this location.  Once you complete the objective or upload the required submission at this location you will be finished the race and you will instantly receive your finish place and time!  Then you can celebrate with your team and all the other fun racers at this after race venue (see details below)!

- All team members present at the Finish

- Team completes the requirement sent by Race HQ
