Read each clue carefully. Complete each checkpoint accurately based on the description.

You must complete 9 out of the 10 checkpoints.  Checkpoint #10 is mandatory (cannot be your skip), and will need to be completed last, otherwise checkpoints can be completed in any order throughout the race.

Our HQ will review your submission almost instantly.  You should see your response very quickly but you do not need to wait around for it, especially if you are confident that you completed the checkpoint correctly.

Teams need to stay together throughout the race from one checkpoint to another and each team member (and their body markings when possible) should be visible in every submission unless otherwise noted.

If you have a race-related question during the race you can submit it through your Team Bonfyre.  We will respond quickly and provide you with the information you need as long as it doesn't impact your ability to solve the clue.

We have carefully scouted and vetted every checkpoint but cities are a constantly changing beast so if a checkpoint is inaccessible or you're not able to complete the requirements for any reason let us know right away and we will adjust the requirements if needed and verify accordingly.

GOOD LUCK AND HAVE FUN!

Checkpoint #1

The blueprints for the temporary art installation you need to find are shown below.  This creative work is located outside of our favorite museum here in the city (when you figure it out you'll realize why).  At 1pm and 3pm this afternoon this piece of art will use the tides of the nearby Bay to generate a high-pitched whistle typically used by mariners to give commands over the roar of the sea.  Once there take a video of your team all making your own boat horn sounds while this art work is clearly visible and identifiable in the background. You do not have to be at this location while the art work is sounding it's own horn but if you are it will give you some examples of what yours could sound like.

- 1 video, all team members clearly visible

- Team is at the specified art installation and it is clearly visible and identifiable in the background

- Team members are making boat horn sounds

Checkpoint #2

This red brick plaza was designed in 1975 to honor the 30th anniversary of a famous charter signing here in the city.  Located on the plaza is a fountain made up of 673 blocks of granite intended to symbolize the seven continents and each "landmass" is connected by water symbolizing the ocean.  Jets of water spray from some of the granite slabs, and those are the ones you'll get your team to.  Once at the fountain take a picture of your team members as they stand on any granite slab that has a jet of water spraying from it.  All team members do not have to be on the same slab, but each racer should be on a slab that has a jet of water spraying from it.  Be aware that wet granite is slippery so be careful when walking on the fountain.

You  can take and submit two separate pictures with half your team completing the challenge in each picture so that someone on your own team can take the picture and hold your team's valuables.

- 1 picture, or mutliple pictures if needed, all team members clearly visible

- Team is at the specified plaza fountain

- Each racer is standing on a granite slab that has a jet of water spraying from it

Checkpoint #3

Find either of the two types of tsunami warning signs shown below and take a picture of your team with ONE of the signs in the background.  These types of signs are located around the city, but knowing where they are will not only get you ahead of the competition today, but possibly get you ahead of a life-threatening danger in the future. You'll need to find an actual sign and not just a picture, shirt, etc, with this same image.

- 1 picture, all team members clearly visible

- Any ONE of the two types of tsunami warning signs shown below is visible in the background and clearly identifiable

Checkpoint #4

Rogers and Hammerstein named their second musical after this type of attraction.  The one you're looking for is only about 4 blocks from the Access.  This historic hand-carved attraction, built 109 years ago, was intended to be located in the city immediately but had to be moved to Seattle because of the 1906 earthquake and fire.  A current campaign enables you to "adopt" one of the animals for a year to benefit the organization it's located at.

To honor this historic and beautiful attraction (and celebrate your inner-child), take a video of your entire team all riding these animals, while they're moving.  Be aware that completing this checkpoint will cost $4 per person.

- 1 video, all team members clearly visible

- Team is at the specified attraction

- Team members are riding the animals and they are moving (operating) during your video

Checkpoint #5

This popular eatery, whose street name is a Fall holiday here in the US, and whose address in Roman numerals would be CCCXXV, specializes in a food that was put in the mouths of corpses by superstitious Romanians to ensure they would not rise from the dead.  Hopefully a corpses breath would be worse than the people you'll need to smell at this location.  Once there, find an equal number of strangers as members of your team and take a video of the strangers breathing in each of your team members faces close up while the outside of the specified eatery is clearly visible in the background.

You DO NOT need to go inside this eatery to complete the challenge and the strangers do not need to be patrons of this smelly establishment.  Just find people passing by and hope they didn't recently eat there.  Each racers face should be no more than a few inches from a separate strangers mouth and they should take one big breath and audibly breathe it into your smell radius.  The real challenge of this checkpoint is the embarrassment factor of trying to convince enough strangers to "help you" complete it.

- 1 video, all team members clearly visible

- Team is outside the specified "smelly" eatery and it is clearly visible and identifiable in the background

- A separate stranger is in front of each racer on your team and their mouth is a few inches from each racer's face/nose

- Each stranger exhales a big breath towards the face/nose of each racer on your team within one continuous video

Checkpoint #6

Driving in this city can be a challenge.  When the gas tank gets low it's even more of a challenge to find a place to fill up in the city.  Now just imagine how tough it will be to find a station with a certain color vehicle filling up, because that's what you need to do!  Find any gas station around the city, and take a picture of your team while any RED colored vehicle is filling up in the background.  The vehicle can be any shade of red, just make sure it's at the pump while the picture is taken.  .

- 1 picture, all team members clearly visible

- Team is at any regulation gas station around the city

- Any red colored vehicle is at the pump while the picture is taken

Checkpoint #7

This member-based hotel is located near the corner of the street that shares it's name with the politician who declared "I would rather be right than be President" and the street that shares it's name with a park at the southern end of Manhattan.  Once there, take a video of any two people on your team completing the quarter spin challenge as seen in the video below, while the specified building's blue entrance is clearly visible in the background.  If you are racing solo you will need to find a stranger to spin the quarter while you attempt to stop it with your finger.

If you need to learn how to do the Quarter Spin Challenge you can watch the video below for an example but basically, have one teammate (or stranger if you're racing solo) flick a quarter so that it spins on a hard surface somewhere near the specified building (so that the building's entrance is visible in the background).  Another teammate will then need to press down on the top of the spinning quarter with one finger so that it stops spinning and remains upright.  Remember that Bonfyre only allows up to a 9 second maximum video to be uploaded into your Team Bonfyre, but you can record a much longer video until you successfully complete the challenge and then just trim the video in the Bonfyre app to show the portion when you successfully complete the challenge.

- 1 video, all team members clearly visible if possible

- Team is at specified hotel location and it's visible in the background at some point in the video

- Either 2 teammates, or yourself and a stranger (if you're racing solo), complete the quarter spin challenge as shown in the video below and described in the clue above

Checkpoint #8

This small park and playground in the Polk Gulch neighborhood is named for a woman who some have called the greatest female tennis player in history.  She won 31 Grand Slam titles and held the record for most Wimbledon wins (with eight) until it was finally surpassed in 1990.  She's also known to be the first American woman athlete to become a global celebrity, making friends with royalty and film stars despite her preference to stay out of the limelight.  Once you get to the playground, find the "ride" shown below and take a continuous video of one racer on your team being spun on the ride by each member of your team within a 9-second video.   Basically, choose one racer on your team to be spun (the least likely to puke) and everyone else on your team should take turns spinning them using the pole above the seat and do it for a full 9-second video.

- 1 video, all team members visible if possible

- Team is at the specified playground

- One racer sits on the specified "ride" and each member of the team takes turns spinning them

- The video should last a full 9-seconds and each team member should get the chance to spin them within that time-frame

Checkpoint #9

Time Magazine once called these bright yellow vehicles one of the most amazing inventions of the year.  GoCar's are the first-ever GPS-guided storytelling cars and they can be seen all around the city (if you know where to look) giving tourists a self-guided way to see the sights.  Take a picture of your entire team and any of the popular GoCar's while it is being actively driven by someone.  Basically, you can't just take a picture of an empty GoCar parked somewhere.  The challenging part of this will be to time your picture perfectly so you capture your entire team and the GoCar while it's being driven in the background.  The car can be stopped at an intersection or a traffic light as long as it is on the road and has people with helmets driving it.

- 1 picture, all team members clearly visible

- Any of the bright yellow GoCar's is clearly visible and identifiable in the background

- The GoCar is being actively driven by a stranger in the background, and not just empty or parked somewhere

Checkpoint #10

(MANDATORY, CANNOT BE YOUR SKIP)

(MUST BE COMPLETED LAST BY YOUR TEAM)

After you have completed 8 total checkpoints and had them verified by our Race HQ, then this checkpoint will be the final one you complete. The FINISH LINE for the entire race!

The establishment you need to get to, which is shown below, has an address along 2nd Street.  If it wasn't for this place's name, you might not be allowed to have one of their many tasty brews upon arriving.

Once your team completes your 8th total checkpoint successfully, start heading towards this location and our Race HQ will send you a quick and brief instruction on what your team needs to do once you get there.  Once you complete the objective or upload the required submission at this location you will be finished the race and you will instantly receive your finish place and time!  Then if you'd like, you can relax with your team, some other fun racers, and recover from your adventure at this after race venue!

- All team members present at the Finish

- Team completes the requirement outlined by Race HQ
