Read each clue carefully. Complete each checkpoint accurately based on the description.  You must complete 9 out of the 10 checkpoints.  Checkpoint #10 is mandatory (cannot be your skip), and will need to be completed last, otherwise checkpoints can be completed in any order throughout the race.

Each checkpoint has a set of validation points below the clue that we will confirm for every submission.  Submit your completed clues to our Race Headquarters throughout the race via your Team Bonfyre and we will notify you quickly of the status using one of these simple responses:

VERIFIED = everything is completed correctly

CODE 1 = you are not at the correct location

CODE 2 = all of the requirements were not met

CODE 3 = all team members were not visible

Our HQ will review your submission almost instantly.  You should see your response very quickly but you do not need to wait around for it, especially if you are confident that you completed the checkpoint correctly. Teams need to stay together throughout the race from one checkpoint to another and each team member (and their body markings when possible) should be visible in every submission unless otherwise noted.

If you have a race-related question during the race you can submit it through your Team Bonfyre.  We will respond quickly and provide you with the information you need as long as it doesn't impact your ability to solve the clue.

We have carefully scouted and vetted every checkpoint but cities are a constantly changing beast so if a checkpoint is inaccessible or you're not able to complete the requirements for any reason let us know right away and we will adjust the requirements if needed and verify accordingly.

GOOD LUCK AND HAVE FUN!

Checkpoint #1

The adventure has begun and you're now racing against the clock!  But for this challenge you'll need to race to a clock!  There are plenty of places around the city to complete this checkpoint, but timing it perfectly could make this checkpoint a game changer.  Find any DIGITAL clock around the city that you can not adjust the time (aka...excluding watches, mobile devices, bedside clocks, microwaves, etc) and take a picture of your entire team with the clock in the background while all of the digits displayed on the clock add up to the number 10.  For instance, 8:11 would work because 8+1+1 = 10.  Or 10:27 because 1+0+2+7 = 10. Although you only need one picture, the timing has to be right, so make sure your entire team is in the picture and the time on the clock is clearly visible so our HQ can verify it.

- 1 picture, all team members clearly visible

- A digital clock that can not be adjusted by your team is visible in the background

- The sum of the digits on the clock are equal to 10

Checkpoint #2

To complete this challenge quickly you'll need to be thorough and have a keen eye.  The globe-shaped sculptures shown in the image below are scattered throughout an entire city block.  Use the clues below to find that block and count ALL of the globe-shaped sculptures that are found within that block. Here are the clues to find that block:

Northern Border: a Southern Avenue named for the American hero who crossed the Delaware River on Christmas Night in 1776

Southern Border: a Southern Street that shares the atomic number of Lithium

Western Border: a Southern Avenue that shares the numerical code of the catcher position in baseball

Eastern Border: a Southern Avenue that shares the likely Par of a 150 yard hole on a golf course

Once you think you've counted them all, and have the correct number, take a picture of your entire team under the large red sculpture that's also found within this block, and submit the number in your Team Bonfyre comment thread.  As a kind gesture we will give you a 2 globe plus or minus margin of error (you're welcome).

You will only get 3 total guesses for the number, so if you get it wrong 2 times then your 3rd guess better be correct or this checkpoint becomes blocked and will need to be your skip!

- 1 picture, all team members clearly visible

- Specified large red sculpture is visible in the background

- Up to 3 submissions for the correct number (within 2 globes plus/minus) of actual globe-shaped scupltures scattered throughout the designated city block. After the 3rd incorrect submission the checkpoint becomes blocked for your team and will need to be your skip

Checkpoint #3

If you aren't very good at this challenge it will show, for the rest of the race. To complete it successfully take a picture of your entire team all balancing an open bottle of tea on each of your heads unsupported (meaning you can't be holding onto it) in front of any business that starts with the letter "T".  Because one of our main sponsors is Honest Tea, if you use their product for this challenge there's a good chance your fun picture will be posted on our social media sites as well as theirs!  Make sure the bottles are fairly full and the cap is removed so you have a lot more incentive to remain balanced!

- 1 picture, all team members clearly visible, and completing the challenge at the same time

- A bottle of any brand of tea is being used and has some of the beverage in it

- One open bottle is on each team members head and isn't being held

- A business that starts with the letter "T" is visible in the background, and the signage is legible

Checkpoint #4

Get your team to the location marked by the purple pin in the 3D rendering below and find any of the benches shaped as logs.  To complete this challenge you'll need balance, timing, and hopefully some good deodorant.  Take a picture of your entire team and as many strangers as necessary to have 7 total people all off the ground on one of these benches.  You can stand, sit, hold on for dear life, or whatever works as long as everyone is on one bench and completely off the ground.  Make sure the picture shows everyone off the ground and all 7 people are able to be counted (not completely hidden from view).

- 1 picture, all team members clearly visible

- Entire team and as many strangers as needed to have 7 total people completing the challenge

- Challenge is being completed on any of the log-shaped benches at this location

- All 7 people are on one bench in some way, and completely off the ground

Checkpoint #5

Minneapolis is known throughout the country as a city with a high quality of life. One of the main reasons for this is it's abundance of open space and parks.  To show the rest of the country how much fun it is to live here, find any grassy area throughout the city and complete ONE of these fun childhood activities with at least 2 strangers:

-Take a picture of your entire team and at least 2 strangers in a 3 tier human pyramid on a grassy area

- 1 picture, all team members clearly visible

- At least two strangers are visible and completing the challenge with your team

- Your group is on any grassy area throughout the city

- Your group has formed a Human Pyramid at least 3 tiers high

                                    OR

-Take a video of your entire team and at least 2 strangers playing Leap Frog on a grassy area

- 1 video, all team members clearly visible

- At least two strangers are visible and completing the challenge with your team

- Your group is on any grassy area throughout the city

-Your group is playing Leap Frog on video

Checkpoint #6

The video below (click on it to play) shows the final out of an important game in Twins history.  A red banner to commemorate this year's accomplishment hangs outside of their current stadium.   Get your team to that specific year's banner and take a video of your entire team singing part of the Twin's fight song with the banner clearly visible in the background.  With the Twins currently in last place in their division be sure to sing it loud and maybe it will bring them some good luck in the 2nd half of the season!

- 1 video, all team members clearly visible

- Entire team is at the specified red banner of the correct year

- Team is singing the Twins fight song

Checkpoint #7

Minneapolis and biking go together like cheese and the inside of a burger.  With over 170 bike share stations throughout the area this checkpoint might be one of the easier ones to get to, but how well you can lead a group of strangers could determine how quickly you complete it.  Get your entire team to any of the numerous bike share (aka, Nice Ride) stations around the city and take a picture with your team and as many strangers as needed to be sitting on each bike seat at the station and all balancing (with arms and legs outstretched and not touching the ground or the bike) at the same time.   For example, if there are 10 bikes parked at the station you will need your team plus as many strangers as needed to have 10 people sitting on bikes (1 person per bike) and all balancing at the same time so that your arms and legs are not touching the ground or any part of the bike.

- 1 picture, all team members clearly visible

- As many strangers as needed to have 1 person sitting on each of the bike seats parked at the station

- Everyone sitting on the bike seats must all be balancing (arms and legs are not touching the bike or the ground) at the same time

Checkpoint #8

Our races are tough even under ideal conditions, but having to battle the August heat (in addition to the competition) makes it even tougher.  This challenge should definitely help you cool off!  At any point throughout the race take a video of your entire team doing either sit-ups or planks, while strangers pour an entire bottle of water on each racer at the same time.  The bottles should be at least 16 ounces, and the entire contents should be poured on you within one 9-second video (the maximum length that can be uploaded to Bonfyre).  Each team member can choose which of the two exercise options they want to do, but the challenge should be completed by all team members at the same time.

- 1 video, all team members clearly visible

- Team members are doing either sit-ups or planks (shown below).

- An entire bottle of water (at least 16 ounces large) is poured onto each team member by a stranger

Checkpoint #9

This challenge is going to either take some luck, or the help of some kind strangers (hopefully lanky strangers).  To complete this challenge take a picture of your entire team, and as many strangers as needed, to create a connected "human chain" (stretch hand in hand) between any two parked cars that are in the color family most commonly labeled with a Hexadecimal Code of "FF0000" (that's 4 zero's).  That code is just a reference, the two parked cars can be any shade of that color.  Please be careful when forming your human chain and avoid stretching across any road where traffic is actively flowing.  Cars are constantly changing parking spots so if you see a chance to complete this challenge you may want to start recruiting strangers help before your opportunity pulls away!

- 1 picture, all team members clearly visible

- Team members, and as many strangers as needed, form a connected human chain (outstretched arms) between any two parked cars that are a shade of the specified color.
