Read each clue carefully. Complete each checkpoint accurately based on the description.  You must complete 9 out of the 10 checkpoints.  Checkpoint #10 is mandatory (cannot be your skip), and will need to be completed last, otherwise checkpoints can be completed in any order throughout the race.

Each checkpoint has a set of validation points below the clue that we will confirm for every submission.  Submit your completed clues to our Race Headquarters throughout the race via your Team Bonfyre and we will notify you quickly of the status using one of these simple responses:

VERIFIED = everything is completed correctly

CODE 1 = you are not at the correct location

CODE 2 = all of the requirements were not met

CODE 3 = all team members were not visible

Our HQ will review your submission almost instantly.  You should see your response very quickly but you do not need to wait around for it, especially if you are confident that you completed the checkpoint correctly. Teams need to stay together throughout the race from one checkpoint to another and each team member (and their body markings when possible) should be visible in every submission unless otherwise noted.

If you have a race-related question during the race you can submit it through your Team Bonfyre.  We will respond quickly and provide you with the information you need as long as it doesn't impact your ability to solve the clue.

We have carefully scouted and vetted every checkpoint but cities are a constantly changing beast so if a checkpoint is inaccessible or you're not able to complete the requirements for any reason let us know right away and we will adjust the requirements if needed and verify accordingly.

Checkpoint #1

Running a great race often comes down to perfect timing and strategy, and this checkpoint will definitely require both.  Because of that, we'll tell you exactly where you need to go and what you need to do. The rest is up to you.  Take a picture of your entire team with the Algiers Ferry in the background while it is docked along the shore here on the downtown shoreline (not the Algiers side). It has taken countless trips across this great river since 1827, mostly because it doesn't stay docked very long, so make sure you snap your picture with the ferry while it's at the dock (and not just approaching or leaving the shore) and then bid this checkpoint bon voyage!

- 1 picture, all team members clearly visible

- The Algiers Ferry is clearly visible and identifiable in the background

- The ferry is at the dock along the downtown shoreline

Checkpoint #2

The fun playground shown below is located among the world's largest collection of living Oak trees, including some that are more than 600 years old!  To find it, you'll need to be along the western edge of the nation's 6th largest urban public park and just north of an Oak that became a popular spot back in the day for rejected romantics and recently bankrupted businessmen to end their own lives.   Once you've found this playground, take a picture of your entire team all touching the blue colored sphere at the peak of the rope net (red arrow is pointing to it in the picture below).  The rope net looks like a giant spider web, and you'll need to work together as a team to all climb high enough on it that you can touch the blue sphere. Capture enough in the picture that our HQ can verify you are all on the rope net and not just touching one of the many other blue spheres around the playground. If there's no one around to take your picture then this checkpoint will really challenge your "selfie" taking skills.

- 1 picture, all team members clearly visible

- Team is at the specified playground in the large public park

- Team members are all on the rope net and touching the blue sphere at the peak of the net

Checkpoint #3

It seems like everyone who lives in or visits NOLA at some point (or every day) indulges in this city's popular sugar covered pastry.  Now you get the chance to "taste" what it's like to be one of them.  Find any place or person around the city that's willing to give away some of that delicious powdered sugar that these treats are covered in, and take a picture of your entire team with it caked on your faces or dumped on your heads.  In order to get someone to donate the excess sugar on their plate or on their actual treats you might need to offer them the chance to smear it on you.  To get verified, each racer on your team will need to have a noticeable amount of powdered sugar on their faces or heads so be sure to get enough on you and find out what it's like to be this city's sweetest attraction!

- Each racer on your team has a noticeable amount of powdered sugar on their faces or dumped on their heads

Checkpoint #4

Finding the well-known landmark shown in the 3-D rendering below should be easy, especially if you know the name of the bright orange Dodge Charger cousins Bo and Luke would out run the police in. Once you get to this location, you'll be putting your own running skills to the test. Take a video of your entire team starting from halfway up the base of any of the 4 sets of stairs that surround this monument (labeled as "1" below) and attempting to run up the stairs, and then climb to the top of the 4 tiers that make up the base of the monument (labeled as "2" below).  Keep in mind that you can only upload a 9-second max video to Bonfyre so you'll need to attempt to complete the full challenge within that timeframe.  You can take a "selfie" video if needed, just make sure whoever is filming captures everyone on your team as you all attempt to complete the challenge.

* To record within the Bonfyre app you need to hold down the record button the entire time. If you have any questions about what you need to do for this checkpoint just ask our HQ in your Team Bonfyre.

- 1 video, all team members visible if possible

- Team is at the specified circular monument

- Team members in the video are attempting to run from halfway up the base of any set of stairs surrounding the monument to the top of the 4-tiers that make up the base of the actual monument within one 9-second max video

Checkpoint #5

The front gates to this checkpoint may be closed after 3pm, in which case you can take a picture in front of the entrance.

Located about 6 blocks due west of the Access, finding this well-known cemetery that shares it's name with the Rams NFL team is not the tough part of this checkpoint. In fact, we'll go ahead and tell you that the main entrance is on Basin Street.  But the complex maze of what feels like endless tombs located inside the walls of this place is what makes this checkpoint a possible game changer.  Once inside the cemetery, find the future tomb of the popular (and busy) actor shown in the image below and take a lively team picture with it.  You know you've found the correct one when it feels a little bit like you've stumbled upon a National Treasure in Giza.

- 1 picture, all team members visible

- Team is at the specified cemetery

- The future tomb of the specified actor is clearly visible and identifiable in the backfground

Checkpoint #6

From being the birthplace of Jazz to completely changing the way people do funerals, this city revolves around music.  Amazingly enough it also has an incredible art scene. For this checkpoint you'll need to find something where these two collide.  Take a picture of your entire team and a statue or sculpture anywhere around the city of a person with a musical instrument.  This should be a statue or sculpture that includes both a person and a musical instrument of some kind and is life-sized (or somewhat close to it) or larger, and not some small figurine or souvenir.  There are many options around the city so strategy will play a big part in which one you head towards.

- 1 picture, all team members visible

- A statue or sculpture of a person with a musical instrument is clearly visible

- The statue or sculpture is life-sized (or close to it), or larger

Checkpoint #7

The name of this gathering place located in the Central Business District sounds very similar to the nickname given to the famous football play shown in the video below (press play to watch it).   Although this beautiful building attracts people on a daily basis, the number of people inside it will likely increase dramatically 11 days from now.  Since the name of this place (and what is often talked about inside) has a lot to do with a woman who was famous for carrying someone, take a picture of your entire team each giving a piggy back ride to a separate stranger, or getting strangers to give each of you a piggy back ride while the front of the specified gathering place is clearly visible in the background.  Racers from another team will count as strangers so feel free to help each other out if you end up there at the same time. If some of your team wants to give someone a piggy back ride, and others want to get a piggy back ride that is certainly allowed.  Just take one memorable picture with your new found "close" friends and be sure to thank them for helping you out.

- 1 picture, all team members clearly visible and completing the challenge

- Team is at the front of the specified gathering place and it is clearly visible and identifiable in the background

- Each team member is either giving a stranger or racer from another team a piggy back ride, or is getting a piggy back ride from a stranger or racer from another team

Checkpoint #8

Because our HQ is based in Philly we just have to send NOLA racers to the smaller version of an art piece considered iconic here in Philly (so iconic the park it's located in is nicknamed for it).  The artist who created these pieces shares his first name with the Kennedy who took a famous walk through the kitchen at the Ambassador Hotel, and his last name is where a Hoosier calls home (and the original one of these pieces).  The NOLA version of this lovely art piece can be found in a sculpture garden adjacent to a popular museum.  Once you've found it, take a picture with your entire team and any 2 strangers or racers on another team all embracing in a big group hug while the specified art piece is visible in the background.   Finding it may not be as tough as convincing 2 other people to give some sweaty urban adventure racers a big hug.

- 1 picture, all team members clearly visible

- Your team is at the specified art piece

- 2 strangers or racers from another team are visible and a part of a large group hug with your team

Checkpoint #9

This city has a lot of traditions, including one that people may or may not tell their loved ones they did once they return home.  Fortunately for this challenge you won't need to "earn" a set of beads, but rather test your skills at catching them.  Take a video of your team on the street-level catching one set of beads that are thrown by any stranger on any 2nd floor balcony.  Anyone on your team can catch it, although your team should all be together when the stranger tosses them to you from the balcony. Having to find beads, a stranger with good aim, and an accessible balcony is what might make this challenge a little less "traditional".

- 1 video, all team members clearly visible

- Entire team is on street level and a stranger is located on any 2nd floor balcony

- Any member of your team catches one set of beads tossed to them from the balcony by the stranger

Checkpoint #10

After you have completed 8 total checkpoints and had them verified by our Race HQ, then this checkpoint will be the final one you complete. The FINISH LINE for the entire race!

The logo of the establishment you need to get to, whose address is along Bourbon Street, is shown below...although the actual sign out front will likely have all it's letters.

Once your team completes your 8th total checkpoint successfully our Race HQ will send you a quick and brief instruction on what your team needs to do at this location.  Once you complete the objective or upload the required submission at this location you will be finished the race and you will instantly receive your finish place and time!  Then if you'd like, you can relax with your team, the other fun racers, and recover from your adventure at this after race venue!

- All team members present at the Finish

- Team completes the requirement sent by Race HQ
